  • SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC is a rosin ester tackifier, specifically designed for EVA based packaging hotmelt applications in case and carton sealing

  • The product shows markedly improved processability over C5/C9 tackifiers in EVA systems, exhibiting better color stability and lower char development

  • Its versatility allows it to be used in a wide range of EVA formulations, typically at levels of 30-45%

  • SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC is designed typically for use in hotmelt applications where good processing performance (color stability, low char) is required, coupled with good adhesion performance

  • Our main raw materials are Crude Tall Oil and Crude Sulphate Turpentine. These are natural products of sustainable forestry and co-products of the pulp industry. When refined, they offer bio-based raw material for many uses

  • SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC is built upon this renewable raw materials base, its long term supply outlook is stable
  • SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC greatly enhances colour stability in EVA hotmelts. Aging results are shown for aging at 177 °C for 96 hours
  • SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC shows reduced char development through improved oxidative stability, a known factor in influencing clean running behaviour
  • This provides increased value to adhesive manufacturers through more color stable and reduced char solutions

Hotmelt colour chips are aged 0 to 96 hours with 24 hr intervals

The improved oxidative stability of SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC in comparison to standard rosin esters is shown in these DSC curves (ASTM D5483)

DCS
The reduced char performance of SYLVAPACKTM RE 100 RC can be clearly observed in the hotmelt hose, when running the SYLVAPACKTM hotmelt continuously for a month. Shown is the SYLVAPACKTM hotmelt next to a standard hydrocarbon tackified hotmelt, also after 4 weeks of continuous use. Char formation is clearly observed with the standard product and absent for the SYLVAPACKTM product
